All events are FREE and open to the public, unless indicated.

FRIDAY
Friday, 5-8:00pm Julebyen Julefest Julefest Food Experience local caterers with special children’s menu.
* Cash bar *
* Music * by local band
* Silent Auction * of juried artisan wares will support the recreational programs of the Knife River Recreation Council.
* In the Gnome Dome. Cost: $20. Family (immediate) $45
Advance purchase only. No tickets sold at the door.

SATURDAY
Saturday, 9-5pm Julebyen Outdoor Market Outdoor market booths feature a wide variety of vendors and artisans with unique, earth-friendly wares and Scandinavian cuisine.
Saturday, 9-5pm Julebyen Indoor Bazaar Indoor vendors with local, hand-made seasonal crafts, gift ideas and goodies!
Saturday, 9-5pm Sleigh Rides every half hour Enjoy a real sleigh ride experience. Fun for the whole family with Positive Energy Outdoors. $5 per person. Every half hour except for horses lunch break from 1-1:30pm
Saturday, 9-5pm Bakeri Scandinavian baked goods in the "Gnome Dome" tent
Saturday, 9-5pm Kaffe Stugga Julpølse (sausage on bun or on lefse with lingonberries,
Lake Superior herring sandwich with tartar sauce,
Lapskaus (stew recipe directly from Norway),
Risengrøt (rice pudding),
Hot cocoa, mulled cider, bottled water
Saturday, 9-5pm Sledding Bring your sled for family fun on our sledding hill.
Saturday, 10-3pm Tour of Homes Take a chauffeured tour of three Knife River area homes, decorated for the holidays. Tickets may be purchased for $15 at the Julebyen Bazaar.
Saturday, 9:30-11am Lefsa demonstration See lefsa made the in true Scandinavian style.
Saturday, 10-11am Gerald Thilmany Listen to the festive accordion music of Gerald Thilmany.
Saturday, 10-11am Blacksmithing Demo Dale Burton of Burton Forge and Gallery demonstrates old-fashioned black-smithing.
Saturday, 10am Julebyen Express Train Board the Julebyen Express train at the Duluth Depot, arrive in Knife River at 11 and board to return at 2:30pm.
Saturday, 10-4:00pm Childrens Workshops Small hands making simple gifts. Parent/guardian must be present with child.
Saturday, 10-12:30pm Felton the Troll Have a conversation with Felton the talkative Troll in the Childrens Workshop area of the Gnome Dome. Presented by Jeff Neppi of the Ridiculous Puppet Company LLC
Saturday, 10-4pm Leif Ericsson's Treasures of Life Medallion Hunt Visit the children's workshop table in the Gnome Dome tent for instructions and a map leading to the treasure Norseman Leif "The Lucky" Erickson left behind.
Saturday, 10-4pm Troll Jewels Hunt in Haystack Children can hunt for the lost jewels of friendly Norwegian trolls.
Saturday, 10-11am Local sponsor: Candy making demonstration at Great! Lakes Candy Watch us make old-fashioned candy canes and ribbon candy on an antique ribbon candy machine. Limited capacity.
Saturday, 11-11:30am Storyteller Lise Lunge-Larsen Award-winning author and story teller shares some of her best tales in the Gnome Dome.
Saturday, 12:30-1pm Dog Sled Demonstrations Check out these winter-loving dogs. Sponsored by Positive Energy Outdoors.
Saturday, 11-3pm Santa Great photo ops with Santa in a genuine Knife River skiff (fishing boat).

Saturday, 12-1pm Troll Train to Troll Canyon Come aboard the Troll Train as we journey with our story teller to visit the grouchy troll living under the bridge in a nearby canyon. Tickets $5 adults,$3 children at the Information Booth
Saturday, 12-1:30pm Lefse Demonstration See how the 'Lefse Ladies' make real Scandinavian lefse. In the Gnome Dome.

Saturday, 1-2pm Raviek - Scandinavian folk music In the Gnome Dome. Listen to traditional folk music with a contemporary flare. Features Renee Vaughan, from group Nordic Bees, playing the Nyckelharpa and Jon Anders, a third generation fiddler born and raised in Sweden.
Saturday, 1-4pm Local sponsor: Outdoor fire and marshmallows at Burton Forge and Gallery Hand-forged skewers available.

Sunday, 5-6pm Scandinavian Cake Reception at Knife River Lutheran Church Following the Celebration of Music enjoy an assortment of Scandinavian cakes and treats.
